Welcome!

Tinrib Recordings was setup back in 1995 By Jon Bell aka Captain Tinrib as an outlet to release music on vinyl from Captain Tinrib & many DJ friends & Artists including Karim, Johnnie Fierce, Steve Thomas, Max - Alien Trax, Dave Randall, Pete Wardman, Simon Eve, D.F.Q, Rubec, Steve Hill, Ganesh, Chris C, M-Zone, Marc Todd, Opal (aka Les Oberon), Superfast Oz, Kristian, Lab 4, Mr Bishi, Groovy & Prime (Canada,) JP (Amsterdam,) Konstantin aka Polygroovers (SFO,) Nadia The Nun (Nunhead,) Jason Dyloot & Tom Slick (Skills, SFO,) Mars & Mystre (F8 SFO,) Disco Outlaws & the mighty Weirdo (Dom Harding.)
At this time there was no name for the music we made, it was a UK cross of German Trance, well, that's what the critics came up with anyway!
We called it UK Hard NRG and imprinted it on our infamous Fishy Tinrib record sleeve.
Our fellow magazine pigeon holers loved to give their readers other names for the styles we pioneered including Hardbag, Hard House, NRG, Trance, Hard Trance, Hard Techno, Hard Dance, rar rar rar Ha ha!!!.... If you haven’t heard our music before, its quality Hard Dance music for up tempo parties between 140 & 155 beats per minute. (Even faster with some crazy nights!) Hard NRG be back with our new, New Zealand flag flying!!!!!!

Pirates Be In Them There Waters!

Through 1995 to 2002 Tinrib Recordings & their sub label, Dirty House Grooves released 65 Singles on vinyl, and 13 CD Compilations & Albums. Alongside the record label is their club night Fish! & Superfish!, where the music they produced with all their superstar DJs was partied to until the early hours and beyond! This was all run by Captain Tinrib, the DJs and of course, not just the secretary, Nadia Rifaat (The Nun!)

Them There Sleeves...

In 2002 Captain Tinrib & the secretary! decided they needed a break from the ties of the record label and closed the doors of Tinrib Recordings and put it on hold until a later stage.
From 2002 Captain Tinrib has continued his live performances and decided to create music on other various labels including over 6 releases on Vicious Circle & Tidy Trax in the UK.

In 2007, the Captain’s Recording Label itch has come to the end with the launch of Tinrib Digital from here in New Zealand.
Its an online creation for today’s technology, of how our music is presented and enjoyed around the world in mp3 and of course CD format - the digital age has arrived with Tinrib!
**All you Vinyl lovers out there, we would love to support every release on the format, but, unfortunately it is just not feasible anymore to press 1000 full colour sleeves & vinyl records, then export from here in New Zealand!!!! There aren't many DJs who even carry heavy records to clubs anymore! Don’t get us wrong, we love vinyl here at Tinrib Digital HQ. We are already planning our 1st Vinyl on Picture disc for release in October 2007. When we do use this retro/ cult/ nostalgic vinyl format, we’ll go all the way and make it a collectable piece of art, in every way, like we have always done!!!
